Certifications
They are afforded the opportunity to earn certifications specific to their program, which employers look for in hiring our students! Certifications tell employers that our students have mastered specific skills in their program of study.
Students are also offered some paid internships and job shadowing opportunities with local businesses, such as Charles Ellis, Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO), Philadelphia Youth Network, Automobile Dealers Association – Greater Philadelphia, SEPTA, and Jefferson Hospital, to name a few.
Mastbaum students participate in special programs in their program major. During this participation, our students prepare for and attend competitions around the county. They compete in specific skills related to the program and bring home many awards!!! Equally important, our students are provided with and opportunity to network with others in their field of study. These programs include HOSA (Health Occupational Students of America), Skills USA, PrintEd, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America, NEFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship), FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), DC-21 (District Council 21 – Painters & Allied Trades).
Earning a high school diploma from Mastbaum School is priceless! Not only are you prepared for college but you get the added bonus of have entry level skills in the area of your program major. Many students from Mastbaum graduate and go right into a full time job!
